Liverpool’s Iconic Waterfront
The waterfront is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and probably the most photographed stretch of the city. The Three Graces — the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building, and the Port of Liverpool Building — line up against the Mersey in a way that works at any time of day, but sunset is when the water really earns its reputation.
The Beatles Statue
The bronze statue of the band walking along the dock draws Beatles fans from everywhere, and it’s an easy stop if you’re already down at the waterfront. Even if you couldn’t care less about the band, it’s a solid piece of public art and a quick way to place a photo unmistakably in Liverpool.
Sefton Park
One of the city’s largest parks, and one of its prettiest. The Victorian glasshouse, the lake, and the gardens all photograph well, and the park hosts enough festivals and food fairs through the year that it’s worth checking what’s on before you visit.
St George’s Hall
A Grade I listed Neoclassical building right in the city centre, and one of the finest examples of the style in the country. The exterior — grand portico, wide steps — photographs as well as the interior, which includes a chandeliered entrance hall that’s easy to underestimate until you’re standing in it.
The Baltic Triangle
If the rest of this list leans historic, the Baltic Triangle is the opposite: independent businesses, street art, and creative studios packed into old warehouse buildings. There’s usually something new painted on a wall since your last visit, which makes it a good spot to return to more than once.
