Holding a conference, meeting or reception at The Spine in Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter? I'm Leon Britton, an award-winning Liverpool event photographer who covers events at this modern Paddington Village venue — this page covers what to expect from your Spine event photography.
The Spine is a modern office building in Paddington Village, part of Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter innovation district, and is the northern home of the Royal College of Physicians. Its events are run under the 'Spaces at The Spine' brand, offering 14 modern, light-filled spaces across its upper floors for conferences, meetings, exhibitions and receptions. (The district's developer, Sciontec, built and manages the wider Knowledge Quarter but isn't itself a bookable event space.)
The building holds WELL Building Standard Platinum certification — the only building in Liverpool to do so — and its 13th-floor space, The Axis, offers panoramic views across the city for dining and drinks receptions.
A landmark 14-storey building in Paddington Village, at the heart of Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter.
Home to the Royal College of Physicians' northern base.
Accredited WELL Platinum — among the healthiest workspaces in the world.
A distinctive design inspired by the human spine and skin, including a striking geometric staircase.
Hosted over 1,000 events and won 10 industry awards since opening in 2021.
Nicknamed the “giraffe building” locally, thanks to its distinctive silhouette.
The façade's Voronoi pattern is made up of 23 million individual polygons, so no two glass panels are quite the same.
Features a series of double-height sky gardens, described as the building's “lungs,” planted to boost oxygen levels and wellbeing.
Rated “Outstanding” by BREEAM, the world's leading sustainability assessment method for buildings.
Shortlisted at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards for Best Business Events Venue.

The Axis on the 13th floor gives genuine panoramic city views — well worth using for a portion of the event, particularly evening receptions.
The building's light-filled, ergonomic interiors suit natural-light photography — less reliance on flash keeps daytime event images looking clean and modern.
The WELL Platinum certification is a genuine point of difference worth mentioning to guests — it fits a venue that already photographs as modern and considered.
Coverage starts from £250, with half-day and full-day options available. Final pricing depends on the length of the event, number of hours, and how you’d like your images delivered. Get in touch with a few details and I’ll come back with an honest, tailored quote.
Fast turnaround is one of the things clients consistently mention — edited, high-resolution images are typically delivered via a private online gallery promptly after your event, so you can share highlights while the event is still fresh.
