Promotional Portraits

For performers, entertainers and public figures

YOUR IMAGE IS YOUR BOOKING

How important are good publicity images?

As an entertainer or public figure, you've probably already mastered your craft — commanding a room is second nature. The harder part is getting the gig in the first place, and that's where your image does a lot of the talking.

Word of mouth and testimonials matter, but a current, honest photo does more work than either. It's the thing that gives a booker or an audience a sense of who you are before you've said a word. And it's surprising how often that photo is years, sometimes a decade or more, out of date.

As a singer and entertainer myself for over 15 years, and a Liverpool entertainments agent for 5 of those, I've seen this from both sides of the booking. I've since had the pleasure of photographing many Liverpool entertainers, both on stage and in the studio, and I believe your images should reflect the act you actually perform — not a filtered version of it.

If you're a singer, performer, dancer, DJ, comedian, or actor whose image matters to your bookings, get in touch and book a session at our Liverpool studio. We've already provided publicity photography for performing artists across Merseyside and the North West.

WHY CHOOSE LEON BRITTON PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography By Someone Who's Been On Stage Too

Leon Britton Photography is an award-winning Liverpool photography business with 171 five-star Google reviews. Unlike a generalist photographer, Leon brings first-hand experience of the entertainment industry to every publicity shoot — not just as an observer, but as someone who has stood on the stage and booked the acts.

Performer background — Leon works as a singer himself, so he knows what a promoter, venue, or audience actually responds to in a publicity shot
Former entertainment agent — several years spent booking live entertainment for venues and events across the North West, seeing thousands of promotional images from the booking side of the desk
Knows what gets you booked — the difference between a photo that looks nice and one that actually convinces a venue or promoter to say yes
Comfortable directing performers — used to working with singers, musicians, drag artists, tribute acts, and comedians who need to look like themselves on their best night

Sessions take place at our studio at The Secret Warehouse in Bootle, with images edited to look like you on your best night — not an overly processed version of yourself.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Entertainer Publicity Photography FAQs

How often should I update my publicity images?
As a rule of thumb, if a promoter or audience member wouldn't immediately recognise you from your current photo, it's time for an update — ideally every couple of years, or sooner if your look or act changes.
What should I wear or bring to the session?
Bring whatever reflects your act — stage outfits, props, or instruments are all welcome. We'll talk through what you need beforehand so the session captures the right personality.
Can I get images suitable for different platforms?
Yes — your final images can be prepared for social media, websites, and press kits, so you've got a consistent set ready wherever you're being booked or promoted.
Do you understand what casting directors and bookers look for?
Having worked as both a performer and a Liverpool entertainments agent, I know what makes a booking image work — and what gets an act overlooked.
