Beyond the Studio: The Many Places My Camera Takes Me

Liver Building - Liverpool - England

When people ask where I work, the easy answer is “I’m a photographer based in Bootle.”

But the full story?

My camera takes me everywhere.

While my studio is in Bootle (just outside Liverpool), I spend most of my time on location — from weddings in Wirral and portraits in Chester, to commercial shoots in Manchester and creative sessions on the coast.

If you’re wondering whether I cover your area, the answer is probably yes. Here are just some of the places I’ve worked (or will be working) within about an hour’s drive of my studio.

Liverpool & Merseyside

From the Georgian Quarter to the Baltic Triangle and Sefton Park, I regularly work all over Liverpool. Whether it’s headshots, portraits, or weddings at iconic venues like St George’s Hall, I know this city inside out.

Wirral

West Kirby, Hoylake, Port Sunlight — all perfect for relaxed portraits and wedding photography. Hillbark Hotel is a favourite local venue, and the Wirral’s coastal light is beautiful year-round.

Southport & Formby

For pinewoods, dunes, and soft natural light, Formby and Southport are ideal. I’ve shot family sessions, engagements, and portraits around the coast and loved every one.

Chester

Chester’s historic streets and city walls are fantastic for editorial portraits, weddings, and personal branding shoots. The contrast of old-world charm and modern styling really shines here.

Ormskirk, Burscough & Aughton

Local towns like Ormskirk and Burscough are popular for countryside engagement shoots and lifestyle sessions. A short drive from Bootle — but great variety for location work.

Manchester

I frequently travel to Manchester for commercial and branding work. From Ancoats to MediaCityUK, it’s perfect for urban portraiture and business photography.

Knutsford, Delamere & Cheshire

Beautiful venues like Colshaw Hall and Merrydale Manor attract wedding clients across Cheshire. The rural setting is also brilliant for relaxed couple or personal brand shoots.

Blackpool & Lytham St Annes

Looking for bold coastal energy? Lytham and Blackpool bring colour, mood, and nostalgia. Ideal for weddings or expressive portraits.

The Lake District

Yes, I do travel up to the Lakes! Windermere, Ambleside, and Kendal are popular for elopements and intimate weddings — and it’s well within my travel zone.

Other North West Locations I Cover:

  • St Helens – Corporate and events
  • Warrington – Personal branding & headshots
  • Preston – Family photography
  • Skelmersdale – Performer & creative shoots
  • Runcorn – Commercial work
  • Southport to Crosby Coast – Engagements & portraits
  • Maghull, Aintree, Litherland – Local shoots near Bootle
  • Halton & Widnes – Community and business photography

So, Do I Work in Your Area?

If you’re within an hour (or even slightly beyond) of Bootle and looking for professional photography — whether that’s for your business, your brand, or your big day — there’s a good chance I already work in your area.

For areas beyond – please get in touch and we can discuss what options are available.

I bring a mobile studio setup, a relaxed approach, and years of experience capturing people and stories on location.

Hi, I’m Leon — a Liverpool photographer with 15+ years behind the camera, working out of my studio at The Secret Warehouse and on location across the North West.

I shoot headshots, corporate and brand photography, weddings, and portraits for actors and musicians — real people in real moments, not stiff studio poses.

Clients usually turn up a little nervous and leave delighted with images that actually look like them. That’s the job, really.
