Getting married at Ormskirk Parish Church? I’m Leon Britton, an award-winning Liverpool wedding photographer with experience at this venue — this page covers what to expect from your wedding photography here.
Ormskirk Parish Church — the Church of St Peter and St Paul — dates back to at least the 12th century, with its oldest feature, a Norman window, thought to date to around 1170. It’s one of only three churches in England to have both a tower and a spire, and the only one to have them both at the same end of the building, making it an instantly recognisable Ormskirk landmark.
The church has been the burial place of the Stanleys, Earls of Derby, up to the mid-19th century, and continues as an active parish church hosting weddings for couples from Ormskirk and across West Lancashire.

The unique tower-and-spire combination makes a striking exterior shot — worth building in time for a few wide shots of the building itself, not just the doorway.
Ormskirk town centre is a five-minute walk away — handy for a change of backdrop — market square, independent shopfronts — if you want photos beyond the churchyard.
