2,500 ACRES OF PRIVATE PARKLAND

One of England's Great Private Estates

Knowsley Hall is the ancestral seat of the Earl of Derby, set within 2,500 acres of private parkland on the edge of Knowsley, just a few miles from Liverpool. Wedding ceremonies take place in the 18th-century Stucco Ballroom — an ornate room with gold-leaf detailing and an original fireplace — licensed for up to 132 guests.

The State Dining Room and a selection of intimate drawing rooms host the wedding breakfast, with overall capacity for around 150 guests and space for a further 50 in the evening. The Walnut Drawing Room overlooks the estate's gardens and lake, a short walk from the Hall itself.

Making the Most of Knowsley Hall

1

The Stucco Ballroom's gold-leaf detailing rewards a slower pace — worth building a few extra minutes into the ceremony timeline to capture the room itself, not just the moment.

2

The estate's parkland and lake give real scope for portraits — if weather allows, it's worth the walk from the Hall for a genuinely different backdrop to the formal interiors.
